Over the years and within our Deaf Provision, we have worked with visitors from all over the world from Audiological Physicians, Teachers of the Deaf , Consultants in Audiological Medicine and Speech and Language Therapist.
The longest standing link we have is with Professor Paul Cooke in the Department of Communicative Services and Disorders at the Michigan State University who bring a group of students studying speech pathology to meet with us, discuss the impacts of deafness on a child’s language and learning development and how support may differ between the two countries. The children love to discuss with them their aspirations and hopes for the future and also pose questions to them from what is typical American Food to the political situation in the country, it enables a real exchange of views.
